Spoonie Holiday Gift Guide: For Chronically Ill & Disabled Friends
Spoonie Holiday Gift Guide: Wondering what to get for someone who lives with disability or chronic illness? Check out my holiday gift list!
Choosing gifts for chronically ill and disabled individuals requires thought and consideration. This is because people who live with chronic illness or disability have unique needs and preferences. It’s essential to keep in mind that we have specific needs, preferences, and limitations.
I started putting this gift guide together in August and I checked in with my support groups for their input. It always helps to get ideas from patients for patients, right? I hope my Spoonie Holiday Gift Guide helps you find the perfect gift for that special someone in your life.
Disclosure: I do not offer adverts on my site. I prefer to keep my site ad-free. However, many bloggers earn a steady income from their referrals. From time to time, I post photos of me holding or wearing products that I personally endorse because they help me.
If you’d like to support me on my chronic journey, I have my own Amazon wishlist here.
Obviously I welcome any of the things below that I’ve recommended!

My Several Worlds: A Coloring Adventure for Spoonies by Carrie Kellenberger
I’m thrilled to announce that a year after my clot crisis in July 2023, my first coloring book for Spoonies is in bookstores now!
My Several Worlds: A Coloring Adventure for Spoonies offers pages of inky delight to remind you that you are strong, beautiful, and uniquely you. You are NOT broken! This book is made for Spoonies by a full-time Spoonie who has been using art as a coping tool for chronic illness and chronic pain since 2009.
“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” ~ Pablo Picasso

Finally, always consider a person’s individual’s specific interests, needs, and any dietary or allergy restrictions when choosing a gift. Likewise, if you’re not sure about allergies, it never hurts to ask! As someone who suffers from over 200 allergies, I appreciate it when people ask me rather than make assumptions.
The most meaningful gifts show that you’ve considered the recipient’s unique situation and have put thought into making their life a bit easier or more enjoyable.
