The final results are in for Taiwanderful‘s best of Taiwan blogs competition. This year I was asked to be a judge in the competition and it was really hard to pick just one blog for each category. I’d like to congratulate all the winners. The overall best Taiwan blog award goes to Shu Flies and Hungry Girl in Taipei.

A Special Shout-Out to…
To everyone who participated and promoted the Passports with Purpose fundraiser . We raised $27,084US to build a school in rural Cambodia and provide health related services such as a school nurse, a clean water supply, and a garden. Each child will receive at least one healthy meal each day. Additional funds will go towards school supplies, books, and other improvements. What an incredible accomplishment. The entire fundraiser was supported by travel bloggers all around the world who promoted the event on their blogs and in their social networking circles. An event like this truly demonstrates the power of social networking.
Finally, congratulations to my friend, Nomadic Matt. He was featured in the New York Times earlier this month.
Happy New Year everyone. Best wishes to one and all for 2010.
