The time is here once again for some link love . The following are a list of some of the blogs and web sites that I’ve particularly enjoyed over the past two months.
My Favorite Travel Blogs
Indie Travel Podcast offers tips and topics for independent travelers. Created in 2006 by Craig and Linda Martin, ITP has evolved into a travel hub featuring video and audio podcasts, travel interviews, vacation travel guides, and articles by travelers from all over the world. Last March, they won Lonely Planet’s prestigious travel blog award for Best Travel Podcasters. Earlier this year, Indie Travel Podcast released their first independent travel magazine, featuring a number of talented writers from the travel industry. If you haven’t had a chance to check out their site, I strongly recommend dropping by for a look around.
Travel Calling is a new favorite travel blog in my RSS reader. Written by Angela Corrias, a freelance Italian journalist currently living in London, Travel Calling offers practical advice and information on traveling. What I really like about this site, though, is Angela’s passion and talent for entwining travel, history, and culture into such tantalizing stories. Angela makes some truly great cultural observations as well, covering little-known places and traditions such as the Knights Templar in Sardinia.
Check out Travel + Leisure Asia for yours truly. I’m their new T+L Insider for Taiwan and Photography.
My Favorite Taiwan Blogs
I officially love Shu Flies! It’s true. Every story on this site is written straight from the heart by Taipei Times journalist, Catherine Shu. Witty and entertaining with stunning photos and regular scoops on the most adorable hidden gems in the city of Taipei, Catherine never fails to give me great ideas for the weekend. She has also written some very poignant posts about what it is like to experience daily life in Taipei as a Taiwanese American expat.
Wandering in Taiwan is a relatively new blog on my radar, but I’m already digging the content. Terrific stories, great images, and fresh content keeps me checking in every few days. Way to go Micki and Kristen!
A Special Shout-Out to…
Jenna Pearce, Taiwan’s fashionista extraordinaire. Rice Society is making waves both online and in the world of fashion. If you haven’t picked up an original label from Jenna, you might want to do it now before she becomes the next Betsey Johnson!
Simply Olivia (Wycech), for her love of music. This girl is seriously bound and determined to bring more more more electro and indie dance music to Taiwan. Olivia and her friends are Dancing Through Sunday, and they want you partying through Sunday. Check out their first event on December 26. Steve Aoki is in town at Luxy and the party is going to be tight. Tell your friends. For more information and tickets, head to Dancing Through Sunday.
Congratulations to my beautiful friend, Jaclynn Joseph. She launched her professional modeling site, JaclynnJoseph.net this week.
A Photo a Day from Planet Earth has consistently shown support and encouragement for my endeavors in the world of photography over the past two years. Here’s the link for my latest work featured on A Photo a Day. Thank you for your continuing support!
Taiwanderful is getting ready to host the 2009 Best of Taiwan Blog Awards. This year, I have been asked to be a judge in the competition. Blogs need to register at Taiwanderful by 1 December to be in the running for the Taiwan Blog Awards. Start your voting now! You’ve only got until the 20th of December to have your say.
Thanks to David on Formosa for listing both My Several Worlds and Taiwan Photographers on his list of Best Taiwan Blogs…
Erica over at Travel Blissful has always been a staunch supporter of MSW. Erica and I both started blogging in 2007 and she is one of a handful of bloggers that has been with me since the beginning.
So, that about wraps it up for the months of October and November. Until next time. Adios!

Hi Carrie, thanks so much for your big shout-out for the Indie Travel Podcast. Much appreciated!
Craig´s last blog ..Travel wallpaper :: December 2009 :: Grand Teton Mountains
My pleasure. Keep up the good work!
Aw, Carrie, what you wrote about me was so sweet! Thanks for brightening a week that’s been up and down. I always appreciate the positivity on your blog, and your comment on my post about being diagnosed with endometriosis while living in Taipei was also a great comfort.
Hi Catherine,
It’s true. Shu Flies is the perfect Taiwan blog.
I was sad to read about your recent health troubles, but I also know from reading your blog that you are not the kind of person who will let illness stop you from living out your dreams. Thanks for sharing such intimate details. I found comfort knowing that I’m not alone.
Thanks so much for including me on your shout outs! Your support is always loved and appreciated! Loving the fb fan page too, easier to keep track of all the (many, many) blog posts you do! You are a constant source of amazing information. Keep it going!
Jenna´s last blog ..100 Outfits – Day 93
Any time Jenna. I love what you are doing! Keep it up!
Thanks for mentioning Travel Calling, Carrie! Very flattering

Angela´s last blog ..Want to buy me? I’m worth two camels
My pleasure. I’ve enjoyed chatting with you over the past month.
Hi, Carrie
Thank you very much in listing us in your favorite Taiwan Blog. Your compliments and supports mean a lot to us. Kristen and I are very honor to be part of it. We really enjoy sharing our travel experiences and culture finding to all the readers. We will continue do our best! Thanks again..
Micki´s last blog ..Taiwan Oyster Land
It’s my pleasure. When I started blogging, most of my posts were about Taiwan. Every once in a while I wish I had kept things as is, but the world is too big of a place. I can never seem to stick to just one thing. Keep up the good work. You guys are doing a great job!
Thanks for the Taiwanderful support in the awards process.
Agree with your suggested Taiwan blogs, a few new interesting blogs joined the Taiwanese blogosphere this year.
I honestly still get lost with the more universal travel blogs that are not country/region specific or not writing about personal experiences of traveling. Yet, there are a few who do travel blogging well and it’s always a delight to find one.
Fili An´s last blog ..My 2009 – A year’s summary
Fili,
It seems like the Taiwan blogosphere is exploring with new talent. It was my pleasure to help out. It gave me the kick in the pants I needed to visit all these new blogs. Thanks for thinking of me.
A bit late, but thank you for the mention.
I remember when I started reading your blog back then and plan to continue dropping by for as long as you’re updating!
Erica´s last blog ..Why I Love Winter
Great links! Now I have some reading material for the next several weeks, I think.
Thanks Bryan. I’m glad you like them.
