Yes, I know. Things have been quiet around here on My Several Worlds. We’ve had a very busy summer. Our two-month visit with Caleb is drawing to an end and John’s mom joined us here in Taipei on Sunday. We’ve been racing around the city trying to cram in as much as possible with the time we have left.
I’ve also been devoting all my spare time to launching the new Taiwan Photographers site. I’ve had the ideas for this site in my head for ages now, and I finally decided to bite the bullet. The site has been completely overhauled and is now focused on connecting folks with the best photographers in Taiwan. Since the soft launch last week, traffic has skyrocketed and I’ve got a line-up of photographers waiting for their own profile page.
I’d like to point out that Taiwan Photographers is a site for photographers of all calibers and interests. Even if you’re an amateur (like me), you can still open a profile page to promote your work. In addition, there are a lot of valuable tips coming from some really great photographers, including Craig Ferguson, who hosted this year’s Worldwide Photowalk in Taipei. Craig is going to be offering some photography workshops in the near future, so tune in to Taiwan Photographers for more details. The weekly photo stream has now become a daily photo stream, and the site is now offering a number of new features including:
- * the latest news in photographer and updates
- * professional biographies and sample portfolios from commercial photographers in the area
- * tutorials and workshops from some of Taiwan’s leading photographers
- * models available for work
- * a growing list of photographers in Taiwan who are dedicated to bringing you the very best images they have to offer
Photographers: Are you interested in having your work featured here on Taiwan Photographers? There are several ways you can get involved.
- * Join our group on Flickr for a chance to be featured as one of our weekly photographers.
- * Join our fan page on Facebook.
- * Contact carrie@taiwanphotographers.com if you would like to add your biography and a sample portfolio to the site. We require a short bio, a list of accomplished works, contact details and a variety of photos to illustrate your photographic style and scope.
Models: Contact us to add your biography, contact information and a sample portfolio to our site.
Don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter by visiting our site and filling in the email form on our front page. By doing so, you’ll never miss another image or update.

Dear Carrie,
Glad that you had quality family time with John’s mother and John. Our best regards! Hey, this is such a COOL and BRILLIANT idea to start such a website. I’ve forwarded this message to SJ who just left for a family visit to SA yesterday. He won’t be back till end of August. But we will catch up with you guys! Wow!! Thanks for initiating this link for all the photographers. You ROCK!!!
Hugs,
Yu-Fen
Thanks Yu-Fen. I’m glad you like it. Please tell SJ to join our group on Flickr. I haven’t seen any of your photos in the group pool for awhile. You haven’t forgotten about us, have you?
Caleb and Moira head home tomorrow, so our schedule should be pretty free from now on.
Carrie, the Taiwan Photographers site looks fantastic.
Thanks David, and sorry for the lateness of my reply. I’m glad you like it!
are you ok from the typhoon?
Sure thing. We went on vacation shortly after it hit. We didn’t even know how bad things were in the south until we were on the road. Thanks for thinking of us, Matt!
