My Several Worlds reached a milestone this weekend with its 3000th comment. Interestingly enough, this comment was left by not one, but three very special digital nomads.
They are currently making their way around the world, and let me tell you, this is one travel blog that has the travel blogosphere on fire. They are known as Soultravelers3, and have been hailed by National Geographic Traveler as “One of the best family travel blogs in cyberspace”.
I’ve been meaning to mention this wonderful traveling family of three for quite some time. Not only are they living their dream and broadcasting it for the rest of the world to enjoy, but they are also contributing to travel 2.0 in a big way. As people are becoming more interested in the whereabouts and opinions of other travelers, Soultravelers3 are finding themselves at the center of attention with their own brand of traveling, blogging, twittering, stumbling, and of course, travel photography and videos. Their online presence on social networking sites like Twitter, StumbleUpon, YouTube, Flickr and Facebook, has practically exploded over the past year. Now that the gates of social networking are wide open, people are connecting with them in a number of ways, and they, in turn, are connecting with people, and are connecting people on every level. It’s simply incredible to watch them on their journey.
These fun-loving travelers have taken on the monikers of their favorite heroes: Jeanne D’Arc, Da Vinci, and little Ms. Mozart, who was five years old when the three set out on their journey from San Francisco to Amsterdam in August 2006. They have been on an extended open-end world tour ever since.
Three years later, their exuberance and passion for life haven’t abated in the slightest. In fact, one gets the sense that they are just getting started. It’s not often that we get a candid look into the lives of a traveling family that has been on the road for so long. Their refreshing and positive outlook on life and the world of international travel has remained the same since their journey began. There is a sense of joy, and wonder in everything they do. I admire the sense of camaraderie they have with their readers and for the folks they meet on the road, which is readily apparent in each and every post. I find it amazing. This is traveling at its finest, and I’m happy to be along for the ride.

Soultravelers3’s last blog post..3 Lonely Planet Nominations!
You’re very welcome. I love reading about your adventures, and I’m sure my readers will, too. Congratulations on your nominations with Lonely Planet!
I haven’t got a traveller soul but I like read stories about faraway places. That’s why I very often come back here and sometimes I visit blogs which you recommend.
I had observed your blog for about six months before. It is my little milestone
By the way one year ago (11 February 2008) I dared to leave my first comment on your My Several Worlds
Goodness! It’s been a year already! It’s funny. It feels like you’ve been leaving comments for much longer than that. Can I also say that I’m a bit honored that you actually remember the date you left your first comment. That’s really cool. I’m so glad you got your nerve up to introduce yourself. A wonderful friendship has come out of your courage. Thank you, K!
[...] also came across this wonderful post by Carrie Marshall, a Canadian who has a great blog called My Several Worlds about her travels over [...]
You know, I have the same impression. Sometimes I feel I know you much longer than a year. I must confess that despite everything I remember your entry, not a date of my first comment. I found it more than week ago.
Anyway I’m glad that I left my first comment and other on your blog. Thank to you I have an occasion to practise my English and I know that I can account on your help in my languages problems. But friendship with you is more important than everything. Thank you Carrie.
