FINALLY! Kind and generous Fili came to my rescue this weekend after I spent a week trying to solve the bugs in my wordpress installation. As it turns out, I knew what the problem was but I had no idea how to fix it. I poked around in the dark for awhile to no avail. Which brings me to my New Year’s resolution: Learn some bloody coding so Fili and MJ can quit saving my ass every time something goes wrong!
Things are looking a little different around here at the moment. Friend and fellow blogging guru, Mark Forman, tweeted me this morning to let me know his eyes are bleeding from the new theme. Then, my darling hubby followed up with a phone call at work this morning to let me know he also doesn’t like the new theme. Bless them for being honest. (Incidentally, check out his new rockin’ theme. Lookin’ good, Bluesman!) Anyways, I completely agree with them. In my defense, I had to change the theme to get my site working again, after everything went bye-bye last week. Yes, it looks like a cookie-cracker blog with no finesse and flair, but good things come with time. I am rebuilding as you are reading this.
Have no fear! There are good things coming down the pipeline. Just bear with me a little longer. I’ve got loads to share with you. My comment section is back on. My fingertips are itching to do some walking. My Several Worlds is back in business!
Oh. One more thing. Can I just say that I’m really diggin’ the new interface and features on version 2.7. Good things really do come to those who wait.

there’s nothing wrong with this theme, Carrie. people are comparing it with the former one, which they are used to. pffft! at least the articles are there! what else can you ask for? lol
Thanks MJ. I’m not really happy with it. I have another one that I’m working on but I need some time to figure it out. For now, this is it and I guess it will do. And yeah, you’re 100% right. Thank god I have my articles back. Can’t really ask for anything else!
know what carrie, its ok. And I know in time you will have it the way you like it
Thanks Michelle! In time, it will all come together. I’m kind of excited to be starting all over again.
The red dots are sort of strange, but other than that I like this theme. Well, I’m so glad that you are sorting out the bugs and that you didn’t lose those past posts.
I agree. Talk about seeing red.
The theme is alright, but the other one I have in mind will take a little work. Hopefully I’ll get it up over Chinese New Year.
My pleasure. Both themes look alright to me. Like the Bushman said – as long as you’re up and running, who cares about the looks?
Thanks again Fili. Actually, I was able to find an new release of my original theme – Options by Justin Tadlock. I like the versatility of this theme and it’s somewhat within my limited capabilities!
I’m glad you’re back and everything is ok now.
It doesn’t matter what theme you will choose. You can always change it. I’m happy that all your articles and photos are in the right place. It’s more important than design.

By the way, I don’t like a new control panel in wordpress. I liked the old one better. In my opinion it was more clear than the latest version.
K,
I owe you a reply to your email. I’ll get it out to you this week. I’m happy that my posts and pages are working again. My daily traffic took a hit because people kept coming here and getting a 404 error (information not found). It was really frustrating. Thankfully, Fili was able to help me out with that. I don’t mind the new dashboard in v. 2.7, but I do think they have a lot of bugs to fix. Some things are still a little wonky with this release. I’m hoping they released v. 2.7.1 soon!
Hurry isn’t necessary. I bet apart from problems with blog you have a lot of things to do. I’ll be waiting for your answer patiently.

Development it’s a good thing. It’s inevitable. However too many changes cause that I need to get used to these changes. Sometimes it’s worth to wait for more stable solutions. I hope v. 2.7.1 won’t be wonky.
I hope so, too. I’m still having issues and I’m hoping they get the new version out ASAP! Too many changes make Carrie a wonky girl! :-0
