It feels like we’re racing with time now. At the moment, we’re trying to get through a hellacious summer work schedule and our wedding planning is in high gear. Unfortunately, with everything that is happening at the moment, My Several Worlds is taking a bit of a beating. I’m juggling two jobs, private classes and Chinese classes in addition to an active summer social calendar.
The most important piece of news is that I finished booking all my flights this month. I booked my ticket to Canada. John is still hoping for prices to drop on his ticket to the States. We will be arriving in North America on the 11th of November. I also booked two tickets from Canada to the States. Claire and I will be flying to the States a few days before the wedding so she can make the most of her North America adventure and I can reunite with my hunny-bunny before we get hitched.
I’ve also really stepped up my workout routine over the past two months. I’m one of those people that needs, no, craves, a workout in order to de-stress, and I believe there’s nothing better than going for a quick run to boost my energy. In the past two months, I’ve increased the length and varieties of my workouts. You could say my official bridal workout routine is in full-throttle and I’m loving it!
I run three times a week. I start my week off with a quick 5K. Then I throw in a strength and endurance building interval workout over 5-7K with a 10K to end my week. On my off-days, I hit the weights and finish off with a light cardio workout on the elliptical, the stationary bike or incline speed-walking.
I’ve recently added a second dance class to my routine and I think I’m going to back the runs down to twice a week. I like the variety in my routine and when I vary my workouts, I get better results because I’m not doing the same old thing everyday. I’ve always been in good shape, but I’m working at getting a bit more sculpted. It’s definitely paying off and I think folks are going to be pretty surprised when I arrive home. This girl is ready and raring to go!
PS> Don’t worry Dad. You taught me well and I’m still keeping with your sound advice. I have my rest days and I’m careful not to overdo it, even though I feel like I could move mountains right now!

hey carrie, I hope u keep up the bellydancing! have a good summer, enjoy it and I hope everything goes well
Hey Carrie! I recently started working out. You are right, it is addictive. My energy level is certainly going up.
All the best for the summer. Don’t over do it.
Hey, I’m impressed! Is the second dance class also belly dancing or are you moving into salsa territory? (Can come in handy for your wedding too if you get John to join
)
Summer workouts – there’s nothing finer. I screwed up the tendons in my knee running so I’m mostly doing at-home dumbbell workouts and cycling these days. 30-50km rides in the central Taiwan mountains definitely get the heart pumping and sweat flowing.
Hi Michelle,
Will do. I’m officially addicted. It’s too much fun to call exercise!
Hey Stevo,
Glad to hear it. Are you training at the gym or have you joined a few sports teams? John and I are quite different. I tend to enjoy doing my own thing. I like challenging myself and beating my own running times etc. John loves sports and has joined several teams in Taipei — basketball, football and soccer.
Hi Kim,
My wedding dream right from the start was to take dance lessons with John, but he’s not interested. So I decided to do my own thing. The second dance class is also a belly dancing class. I’ve been interested in the Argentinean tango since I saw it being danced in the streets of Buenos Aires years ago, and it’s always been a fantasy of mine to learn it. I will eventually. I just need an extra four or six hours to my day!
Hi Craig,
So that’s how you get all your terrific nature shots!
I’m glad to hear your summer is going well. We’re looking forward to seeing you sometime in the next few months.
