Where would I be without my Lonely Planet? I admit. I’m a travel fiend. When we’re not on the road, I’ve usually got my nose stuck in a travel book of some kind. More often than not, it’s a Lonely Planet publication of some sort. These titles are at the top of my wish list this year.

The Travel Book (Hardback) $50.00 US
The Travel Book is also available in paperback for $30.00 US.
“A journey through every country in the world.”

One Planet (Hardback) $19.99 US
“A celebration of life, curiosity and the experience of travel.”

Taiwan Travel Guide 7th Edition $25.99
Of course I need the new guidebook and I’m sure none of my friends in Taiwan would be unhappy if this was handed to them for Christmas.
Plus, the co-author of the newest edition of Taiwan 7 is my friend, Joshua Samuel Brown. Joshua has recently moved to Belize on a new assignment for Lonely Planet. Check out more of his travel adventures at his blog, Snarky Tofu.
The Best of Beijing City Guide $14.99
I’ve been to Beijing many times. I love the city. I’ve spent a few weeks there on my own and I’ve wandered through all the amazing sites with John as well. Beijing is one of our favorite cities to visit.
I’d like to get my hands on this city guide for two reasons. Beijing is a treasure-trove of culinary delights, shopping and sightseeing. We’d like to broaden our next experience in the city of Beijing. We’re going to the 2008 Beijing Olympics next summer. We can’t wait to see how much the city has grown.
Bluelist 2008: The Best in Travel (with Free Bluelist 2007 $22.99)
Bluelist features the top ten of anything and everything in the world of travel. The Best Beaches. The Best Adrenalin Rushes. The Best Places to Party. I still pour over my 2006 Bluelist with wanderlust.
Africa Travel Guide 30th Anniversary Edition $35.99
I’m in the middle of reading Dark Star Safari Overland from Cairo to Capetown by Paul Theroux. My interest in Africa has risen exponentially since I started this book. I’m thinking a guide book will come in handy even if this journey won’t be happening in the near future.
Bad Lands by Tony Wheeler $14.99
“By the founder of Lonely Planet, Tony Wheeler recounts his travels through countries which seem to be on everyone’s lips these days.
Written by the founder of Lonely Planet, this fascinating account of life in these closed-off countries will appeal to anyone with an interest in the state of the world today.”
