Spend a day walking around Harajuku and you’ll get more than you ever need for a gaggle of sights. Harajuku is well-known for its boutiques and bistros and famous for its Harajuku Kids and Cos-play-zoku aka The Costume Play Gang. A day spent here is a day in voyeur’s paradise.
Despite the gorgeous weather, there weren’t many kids out when we arrived at Harajuku station shortly after 2pm. After strolling around the station area, we headed for Yoyogi Park, where we spent an hour wandering around the main entrance gawking at the Rockabilly Greasers and debating on which band deserved our attention. It was a hard decision, but I liked Loovee the best. They really know how to get a crowd going.

This makes me homesick! Great photos. Did you venture down Takeshita-dori?
How I miss Japan! Studied abroad there in 2006, but I’d lived in Asia for 18 years until 2004.
Have you seen any Ganguro Girls?
I love it ^^ YAY Harajuku!
These photos are awesome. Thank you for posting them!

I love the way they look – so Japa-nice!
Thanks Everyone.
Unfortunately we arrived later in the day. There weren’t many kids out in costume, so I was only able to snap a few photos. I wish we’d been able to spend a bit more time in Tokyo. It’s an amazing city.
