Pop-ups are really, really annoying. I usually just read you via a feed reader because of them. As for the actual <i>content</i>, I think it's really interesting. The travel ones with pictures are neat, and the more personal entries are better still. I especially found the ones about adjusting to living here in Taiwan to be interesting.
