The Peace of Angkor is a private villa nestled in the heart of Siem Reap This English-run villa is located in a quiet residential area within minutes of the downtown core of Siem Reap.
Operated by Dave Perkes and Colleen Allan-Burns, the Peace of Angkor has earned itself a terrific reputation for being a first-rate guesthouse in Siem Reap. It certainly deserves its mention in Cambodia’s Lonely Planet for providing exceptional service, a clean and quiet atmosphere and a terrific place to relax at any time of day.

Peace of Angkor must be one of the best deals in town. The service, location and all-around hospitality and charm of the owners and employees at Peace of Angkor is outstanding.
Our room was huge, clean and bug-free. The beds were quite comfortable. We especially enjoyed the balcony, where we spent several evenings sitting outside sipping ice cold pints and reflecting on our daily activities. Our every need was seen to.
We spent our first day in Siem Reap with Dave. He asked us to join him on an afternoon jaunt to Kompong Khleang, a large fishing village on Ton le Sap. It was a magnificent afternoon and one of the best tours I’ve taken to date. It was so good, in fact, that I’m going to save the details for another post.
Dave was full of interesting facts. He’s extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. He’s also a professional photographer and is quick to offer advice if asked. Hence, the tours he offers are rather unique and a photographer’s dream.
I highly recommend seeking Dave out if you’re journeying to Siem Reap. His tours are first rate and take you off the beaten path.
In addition to great tours and friendly service, the staff of Peace of Angkor arranged terrific drivers for us. We hired a private driver to escort us through Angkor Park for three days. We also hired a private car and driver to take us to Phnom Penh. Our driver was given instructions to take us to several scenic spots along the way, all places we would have missed if we’d decided to use public transportation.
The staff also inquired about our travel itinerary and were able to suggest and book reputable rooms for us in Phnom Penh. We were immensely grateful for this service when we reached Phnom Penh, as the guesthouse we had been considering was a complete dive.
I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Dave, and the staff of Peace of Angkor, particularly Saam, Set and Doun, who greeted us with smiles and graciousness despite a late and rather unexpected arrival in the middle of the night. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy during our stay. We will be back and are looking forward to seeing all of you again really soon!

The Peace of Angkor sounds amazing Carrie. Hopefully Range and I will get to experience the villa in about a months time. We are waitlisted for our tickets and keeping our fingers crossed.
I’m glad you are enjoying Angkor! I remember how difficult it was for you to cross into the country with the bus situation.
Good to hear
That’s why I tell myself, no matter how difficult visas and borders can be, it’s worth it in the end!
