It’s time to brag a little. Modesty goes out the window today! I did a photo shoot with Jo Rees for the cover of Discover Taipei Magazine on Saturday afternoon. Check out her blog and pictures for the finished product. It was a helluva way to spend my first day back in Taiwan and I can’t thank Jo enough for her thoughfulness. I’m not normally comfortable with people taking my pictures, but Jo has a unique way of making it all look so very very easy. The bonus was being able to spend the afternoon with her and catch up on everything we’ve missed over the past three months. Blogs are a great way to keep up with friends but there’s nothing like being able to sit down and have a heart-to-heart with a great friend.
John and I have been looking at apartments all weekend as we are planning to move out of Shu-lin on the 20th of this month. And of course, we’re job-hunting again. John did some substitute teaching for Papa Jordan’s last year and they called him last night to offer him a part-time job in the mornings. He couldn’t believe they remembered he was coming back on the 1st, so we were mighty surprised and pleased when we got the call last night. He plans on teaching part-time in the mornings and finding another job to fill his afternoons and evenings. He starts work tomorrow.
I’m entertaining the idea of returning to Gram English School in Shu-lin. We’re meeting with Carol and Gavin today to discuss our possible re-employment. We’re also planning on meeting with Mitch from Reach To Teach to find out if he has any ideas for us.
The push is on to keep ourselves busy and to save, save, save for our wedding next year. We’re tying the knot at Moon Palace Golf Resort and Spa at the end of November 2008.

I love the photos of you with the pineapple. And good luck with the new jobs!!!
Thank you! Things are really looking up. We’ve been in Taiwan for less than a week and I’ve managed to find a job, an apartment and a language exchange partner all on the same day.
Wow Carrie! You really do live in “several worlds”. It’s amazing how you stepped from North America one day into the hustle and bustle of Taiwan the next- without even skipping a beat. I’m glad that everything is working out for you.
feel free to brag all you like.. you looked fabulous!
