That is the most charming trash can I have ever seen. Cute. Although, it looks like quite a hassle to empty the trash.

Hi Jo,

I'm not sure where we're going next because we don't have much time left before we go on vacation. I have a few other articles to post on our travels in Taiwan.

Next month our traveling will take us to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. My Several Worlds will be changing direction slightly to accomodate for these trips. I'm still going to continue to post on Taiwan though, as we've been to quite a few places that I haven't had the time to write about.

Wow Carrie. Your witting and photos totally capture the charm of the National Palace museum. Although I have not yet visited the site I feel that I know what to expect thanks to your witting and photos. What are you and John planning on seeing next?

Yep. The ticket prices have been raised. Our travel guide indicated the prices would be around $80 and they've doubled, perhaps because of the new renovations.

And yes, we saw the Sung Calligraphy exhibit and the Sung Dynasty Rare Books collection. Amazing and huge! Both are part of the Grand View exhibition. You'd better hurry though. Sunday's the last day of the exhibit.

did they raise ticket prices recently? I went a couple of months ago and I could've sworn it was under NT$100. Did you see the special Song calligraphy exhibit?

Good question. Since this was my first trip to the museum, I have nothing to compare it with. I thought it was well laid out and organized. We were able to navigate quite a bit of it in a few hours. I agree that it's not on-par with other world-famous museums, but I still found it aestheically pleasing. All in all, we had an enjoyable afternoon there.

what did you think of the interior design of the museum? was it easy to navigate? having been to the national palace museum countless times, i still think the museum's design is sub-par compared to other world famous museums. however, i haven't visited since the latest renovation, so i really hope i'm wrong.
