I’m a newbie to the blogging world. So, of course, I’m trying to figure out how to be a better blogger. I figured the best way to go about doing this was to set manageable goals for myself each month.
When I started this blog on the 7th of January, I knew nothing about blogging. Actually, I still know next to nothing about blogging. I’ve been a frequent visitor to Lorelle on WordPress and Darren Rowse’s Blogging For Beginners, both of which provide help, tips, advice and techniques for blogging. Both of these sites provide an immense amount of information for baby bloggers like me. I’ve been able to hit the ground running and have enjoyed a steady flow of visitors to My Several Worlds thanks to their expertise on all blogging subjects. I can’t profess to understand everything on these sites. Every day I take baby steps and become a little more adept at blogging. There’s still so much to understand about the language and world of blogging.
I’m also very very thankful to have my good friend Range nearby. His post on How to blog on WordPress for beginners also helped get me started. He’s been an immense help. I know I can always count on him when I’m in a bind.
Three things I want to work on and master this month are:
1. Speed blogging: I’m still taking too long to write, edit and publish entries. This month, I’m going to set time limits for myself on random posts to see what I can come up with.
2. Adding images and extra links to my sidebar: I’m having real issues with this one. I bet it’s something super easy that I’m overlooking. I’d like to add a link and image to a company here in Taiwan and I’d also like to add categories of links to my interests in the sidebar. How the heck do I do this? Nothing I try seems to work!
3. Learn how to make my blog available in every language.
I set a time limit of 20 minutes to write, edit and publish this post. It took me 24 minutes in total. Not bad for a first try I guess.

Your blog is fantastic Carrie and is getting better and better by the day. Keep up the good work!
