Jo Rees reminds me of a tiger. She’s strong-willed and independent, a natural born leader and totally fearless. She’s a go-getter than leaves no stone unturned as she races towards fulfilling her hopes and dreams.
Incredibly brave, lively and engaging, Jo always lands on her feet, ready for her next act in life, pursuing it with unyielding energy and hunting it infallibly.
Few friends could be as caring, as quirky and surprising, or as genuinely interested as Jo. That’s why I’m lucky to have her as a friend. We met several years ago in Ottawa, Canada. She kept in touch with me throughout my travels and proved herself to be a true correspondent and friend by the frequent updates she sent from back home. She keeps me in touch with my old life, and always encourages me to follow my dreams. I love her for it.
In addition to being my friend, Jo is an incredibly creative and talented woman. She sees the world through the eye of her camera lens, and takes the most amazing photographs. She photographs everything there is to photograph and continues to find new ways to show the rest of us the world through her eyes. When we first met, she had just started to document the various artists, venues and participants of the club scene. Her work was in demand immediately. Her photography website was an instant success and continues to attract admirers from around the globe.
Since then, she has worked in the bridal industry and one-on-one with clients. Recently, she made the move to Asia with her husband, Range who also happens to be a world class blogger here on WordPress. Check out his Memoirs. They’re fantastic.
Jo and Range both reside here in Taiwan. Needless to say, I’m thrilled that they are here. Jo’s new photo blog is well worth taking the time to browse through, as she documents everyday life in Taiwan and the adventures and experiences she’s having in Asia. I couldn’t be more pleased to see her adding yet another facet to her incredible ménage of eclectic and inspiring work.

WoW Carrie! I am so touched by your post. You are such an inspirational person and friend! Needless to say you have had a very positive impact on my life and are the person who inspired me to move Taiwan. We can’t wait to celebrate your birthday next weekend.
In addition Carrie, I have a lot to learn from you. You are very balanced and have the right priorities in life. You don’t let the tough get you down and are brave enough to go out there and live life on your own terms. Moreover, you are a phenomenal photographer and writer! Happy Days!
Ah, that is so nice. Thanks Carrie!
Thanks Jo. You’re a terrific friend and I’m so happy that you’re both over here experiencing and sharing all of this with John and I. I can’t wait to see where your art is going to take you this year.
