Hello world!

Hello world. Hello indeed. I’m a relative newcomer to the world of blogs, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a lot to talk about. I’ve got loads to talk about. So let me get started.

Four years ago, my world changed dramatically on a cold, clear day in March, as I was flying to northern China to join the ESL world of teaching and the backpacking world of adventure travel. Like so many others before, I was swayed by exotic news reports and the enthusiasm of my friends who had been to Asia. They all seemed so sophisticated, worldly and knowledgeable. I wanted to experience it for myself. I wanted autonomy and independence in its truest form. I wanted adventure and excitement. I wanted to explore the unknown as I expanded my horizons to truly make the world ‘my’ global village. I’ve been on that road since that fateful day in 2003 and it’s time to tell my tale properly – the ups, the downs, the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful and the simply outrageous. I’ve found love, friendship and adventure to last me to the end of my days.

So, this is for the family and friends that were so hard to leave behind and for the friends I’ve met on the road; it’s for those of you who will enter my life in the near future and for those of you who are just plain curious. Welcome to my several worlds.

Hi Prab. It’s so nice to hear from you! This is a special day because you are the first person to leave a comment for me. What a nice surprise! Thank you for your very kind welcome. I’m looking forward to hearing about your thoughts and comments too. Perhaps over a nice cup of virtual coffee? ;)
